Carriage Mounted Spreader Bars - As the name implies, this particular mast has 3 sections. The external section mounts firmly to the lift truck. The next middle part telescopes in the outer part. The inmost section telescopes within the intermediate section. The inner section and the intermediate part both raise as the lift cylinders lengthen. Once again in this model, the fork carriage rides within the internal section. The 3 stage mast provides a shorter lowered height as opposed to the 2 stage mast. The common usage of the 3 stage mast is in areas like for example doorways where overhead clearances are limited. This particular mast is usually outfitted with a center cylinder to be able to let the fork carriage raise several distance before the mast parts start extension.
The 2 Stage Mast consists of two parts. The internal part telescopes in the outer and raises as the lift cylinders extend. The outer section of this particular mast model is mounted to the lift truck. The fork carriage is situated inside the internal part. This particular mast type has a taller lowered height as opposed to an equivalent lift height quad mast or 3 stage mast.
