South Carolina Forklift Parts - South Carolina is a state within the Deep South of the United States which borders the state of Georgia towards the south, North Carolina towards the north, and the Atlantic Ocean to the east. First part a of the Province of Carolina, the Province of South Carolina was one of the thirteen colonies which declared independence from the British Crown in the American Revolution. The colony was initially named by King Charles II of England to honor his father Charles I, since Carolus is Latin for Charles. South Carolina was the first state to vote to secede from the Union and was the founding state of the Confederate States of America. According to the 2010 United States Census, the state is ranked 24th amongst the U.S. states by population, at roughly 4,625,300 people. South Carolina consists of forty six counties and its capital is Columbia.

Based on the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, the gross state product of South Carolina in current dollars was $97 billion in the year 1997, and $153 billion in the year 2007. Its per-capita real gross domestic product or GDP in 2000, was $26,772 in the year 1997, and $28,894 in the year 2007; that represents 85% of the $31,619 per-capita real GDP for the United States on the whole in the year 1997, and 76% of the $38,020 for the United States during the year 2007.

Main agricultural outputs of South Carolina are: tobacco, poultry, dairy products, cattle, rice, hogs and soybeans. Industrial outputs include: textile goods, chemical products, paper products, machinery, automobiles and automotive products and tourism.

The state shares its border along with the state of North Carolina in the north, the state of Georgia towards the west across the Savannah River, and on the east by the Atlantic Ocean.

South Carolina is made up of four geographic regions, that they call physiographic provinces. The Coastal Plain lies in the southeast part of the state, that are further divided into the inner and Outer Coastal Plains. From north to south the coast is divided into three separate parts, the Grand Strand, the Santee River Delta, and the Sea Islands. Further inland are the Sandhills, ancient dunes from what used to be South Carolina's coastline millions of years ago. The Fall Line, that marks the limit of navigable rivers, runs along the boundary of the Piedmont and the sandhills, that has clay soils and rolling hills. In the northwest corner of the state are the Blue Ridge Mountains, the smallest geographical region within the state.

The state's shore contains a lot of salt marshes and estuaries, along with natural ports like for instance Georgetown and Charleston. An unusual feature of the coastal plain is a large number of Carolina bays, the origins of which are uncertain. One prominent, but incorrect theory says that a meteor shower created them. The bays tend to be oval, lining up in a northwest to southeast direction. The terrain is flat and the soil is composed completely of recent sediments like for example clay, sand and silt. Areas with better drainage make excellent farmland, although some land is swampy.
