To be able to help alert others of an approaching or nearby forklift, visual safety devices such as strobe lights can help. There is a low-mounted strobe light that includes a shield to help prevent the light shining into the driver's eyes.

Reverse operation alarms are examples of audible warning devices that automatically sound when the lift truck is backing up. Hip Restraints and Anti-Cinch Seat Belt are basic features on all kinds of Hyster/Yale forklifts. For older Hyster/Yale forklifts, safety restraint systems are available for installation on most units.
